You can use both online and offline methods to change the photo in Aadhar card. But here we will tell you the offline way to change the photo in Aadhar card.
It is necessary to verify the form for changing the photo
To change the photo in Aadhar card, you have to first go to your nearest Aadhar center. After visiting the Aadhaar center, you will get a correction form. In this correction form, what you have to change in your Aadhar card, fill all the details. Apart from this, you will have to fill many more details in the form exactly. After filling the form, you can get this form verified from the office of your councillor, MLA and MP. Keep in mind that unless your form is verified by a verifier, your photograph in your Aadhar card cannot be changed.
The photo gets updated a few days after saving the data
After verifying the form, you will have to come to the Aadhaar center once again and give the verified form at the counter. After which the Aadhaar staff will call you after your number is received and will take your new picture. After capturing the picture, your data will be saved, after which you will be given a receipt. Keep this receipt handy as this receipt has a correction number with the help of which you can check the status of your photo change application. Let us tell you that a few days after getting the receipt, the photo in your Aadhar card will be changed, which you can download. Keep in mind that it may take up to 90 days to get a new Aadhar card with a new photo.
Steps to Change the Aadhaar Card Photo
Biometric updates such as photographs and fingerprints cannot be changed online. You will need to visit the Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre to make the changes. The procedure to change the Aadhaar Card photo offline is mentioned below:
- Visit the nearest Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre. You can find the nearest centre by Locate an Enrolment center.
- Collect the Aadhaar enrolment form. You can also download the form by visiting the official website of UIDAI.
- Fill in the relevant details on the form.
- Provide the form and give the biometric details.
- A photograph of you will be taken by the executive.
- The biometric details will need to be provided for approval.
- A fee of Rs.100 will need to be paid to update the Biometrics details on the Aadhaar.
- An acknowledgement slip will be provided to you with an Update Request Number (URN) mentioned on it. You can check the status of your request by using the URN.
No documents will need to be provided to update the photograph on the Aadhaar Card. It may take up 24 hours to 90 days for the request to be processed.
