Another Sex Racket Busted in Kashmir; 5 including husband-wife arrested

On Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir police announced that they had uncovered a sex racket in the Handwara area of the Kupwara district in north Kashmir, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, including a house owner and his wife.

In a statement, a spokesperson said that they received information from reliable sources regarding the immoral activities taking place at the residence of an individual in Reshipora. Consequently, a search party conducted a raid on the home of Shabir Ahmad War, S/o Ghulam Ahmad War of Reshipora, where they discovered and busted the sex racket.

The police arrested five people, including the house owner and his wife, one sex worker, and two customers, and seized Rs 47,800 in cash from the location.

The detainees were identified as Rayees Ah Lone, s/o Khazir Mohd Lone of Dangerpora, Rafiabad, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, s/o Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Binner, Baramulla, a female sex worker (name withheld), Shabir Ahmad War (house owner) s/o Gh Ahmad War of Rishipora, and the house owner’s wife (name withheld).

An FIR case No. 37/2023 has been registered under relevant sections of law at PS Kralgund, and an investigation is currently underway.
