Meet Ayaan Sajad: 11-year-old singer from Kashmir who became Internet sensation

Take a look at Ayaan Sajad, a native of Kashmir. He is only 11 years old, and is already dominating the Internet for his beautiful voice that is captured in his latest single “Bedard Dadi”.

The singer aged 11 was an Internet phenomenon following the moment his Kashmiri track went through social networks. It earned millions of viewers on the track and the track continues to be popular throughout the valley. Ayaan Sajad is from the Anantnag district in south Kashmir and wants to be a symbol of Kashmir and encourage young people to follow their hearts and love music everywhere in the world.

Ayaan stated,” I started my journey with small occasions and weddings, and I took part in numerous singing competitions in order to be noticed. I started my journey at an occasion at home which I was invited to sing the Kashmiri song. Then, at a similar occasion, I was introduced to local radio DJ RJ Umer, who offered me the chance to sing onstage and display my talents. That’s the point at which it all began.”

Ayaan said, “Umer Sir helped me a lot and provided me a platform where people came to know about my talent,”.

My family was there for me from the beginning. Papa told me to take up a singing career however I would like to be able to manage studies and singing,” Ayaan said.

RJ Umer directed ‘Bedard Dadi Chane’, which is sung by Ayaan Sajad, in the Kashmiri language, with the Sufi motif and pop-rap providing a unique twist on the song.

Bedard Dadi” is recorded by RJ Umar Nisar, in collaboration with Achabal Open Mic under Mashq Talks Music. Ayaan Sajad Afnan Gull, and Khalid Muntazir were among the performers in the track. The song was written in the 17th century. Kashmiri Sufi poet Shamas Fakeer composed the song’s lyrics.
